Tessa Hebb is a leader in the academic community in Canada and globally in research on and advancement of socially responsible investment. She is Director of the Carleton Centre for Community Innovation at Carleton University in Ottawa, where she heads up the Responsible Investment Initiative, a national research program on responsible investment and impact investment. She has been a leader of the PRI Academic Network globally, and the Canadian Business Ethics Research Network. As an Adjunct Professor in both business and geography, she has mentored many graduate students and produced an extensive body of published research on responsible investment.
Tessa is a global expert in pensions and responsible investment, and is co-editor of Working Capital, the Power of Labor’s Pensions. Her book No Small Change: Pension Fund Corporate Engagement was published by Cornell University Press in 2008. She is currently editing a volume for Springer Publishing, The Next Generation of Responsible Investing.
As Principal of Hebb, Knight and Assoc., Tessa has advised the CPP Investment Board and the Hospitals of Ontario Pension Plan on their responsible investment policies, as well as consulting to many clients in the responsible investment area, including the Public Policy Forum, the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, Credential Securities and the Rockefeller Foundation.
Tessa is a former board member of the Social Investment Organization, and was recently acclaimed to a further term on the Board, starting in June, 2011. |
Tessa Hebb est une leader du milieu universitaire national et international dans la recherche sur l’investissement socialement responsable et la promotion de ce secteur. Elle est directrice du Centre d’innovation communautaire de l’Université Carleton à Ottawa, où elle dirige l’Initiative pour l’investissement responsable, un programme national de recherche sur l’investissement responsable et les investissements à impact élevé. Elle assume un rôle de leadership dans le réseau universitaire des PIR à l’échelle mondiale et le Réseau canadien de recherche en éthique des affaires (CBERN).
